The Style Outlets

Viladecans, Barcelona (Spain)
THE STYLE OUTLETS shopping centre was built on nearly 7 hectares of trapezoidal shaped land in Viladecans, Barcelona, and has two main Access points. When approaching along the C-32 motorway the unusual design of the large entrance can be seen. Exiting the motorway takes the visitor through the entrance gates and to the shopping centre. The northern access point is connected to the town of Viladecans and leads into a large space open to the public at the highest level of the complex. From there the whole of the centre can be seen and the main walkway accessed. The gently sloping land accommodates car parks on two levels. A Mediterranean style with airs of an oasis has been achieved by way of palm trees and blossoming varieties of tree, bushes and seasonal flowers. The feeling of urban streets is what was aimed for, with the awnings of the business premises offering shade. The architecture is contemporary, natural and warm. It is uniform, when viewed from the outside, fragmented into dimensions that resemble the centres of small towns on the inside. These features attempt to connect it with the design and modernity of Barcelona, as does the use of Beige Cenia Stone with a flamed finish for all the outdoor paving.
