A large project, which started in Qatar in 2008, was the construction of the Supreme Education Council (SEC). The complex of buildings, in Doha, is the headquarters of the various government departments responsible for Education and Higher Education in the country. It is made up of a group of five buildings which house the General Secretary and the Institutes of Teaching, Assessment, Higher Education as well as some shared services. On the site large car parks, an underground electric train station, water fountains and expanses of parkland have also been built.
